A bot, most prominently in the first person shooter PC game types (FPS), is a roBOTic computer controlled entity that simulates an online or LAN multiplayer human deathmatch, team deathmatch opponent or a cooperative human player. Computer game bots work via artificial intelligence routines pre-programmed to suit the game map, game rules, game type and other parameters unique to each game.

A bot is a program that uses ai to make decisions, and as such usually has to connect to a server. A macro is a preset list of commands the computer uses, no decision making ability, it just repeats the list of things/spots/places to do, AND CANNOT BE DETECTED since it connects to nothing!

Extra moron points for hydrak!
Here are examples of one liner for you:

Macro is a low-ai/stupid bot.

Macros programmed by dumb/lazy programmers will be detected.

Attention hydrak :

"Fixed issues with last week's update that could cause loot drops to completely stop for some players after repeated map entries, and substantially improved the loot system so that only the most extreme forms of farming will cause monsters to start to run low on loot."

Yeah, I guess it never happened for anyone huh? That's why they had to fix it. Genius. You should go into politics, you're just attribute 12 at "Only Seeing What You Want To See".

Also "Updated monster and loot spawns in Sage Lands, Watchtower Coast, Frozen Forest, The Scar, Vulture Drifts, Snake Dance, and Ettin’s Back, and for quests Iron Horse War Machine, The Monk’s Path, and Seeking the Seer."

This would seem to indicate that I was right, and that loot drops are specific to areas, which would explain why people in the desert said that the spawns were a lot worse, and people in other areas were reporting no issues at all.

Pretty big update all around, and monks should be happy with their 75K gear. Someone post piccies!

I don't see anything wrong trolling in a thread full of cry babies. I hate cry babies, but it's fun to see them cry.

With the latest patch, anet gave you cry babies some cookies. Come back here or make a new thread crying some more once you are done eating those cookies.

Do you have any proof of this? I'd like to know exactly what the patch did but of course ANet continues to use euphemisms to hide their nerfs . BTW, how would drops have increased overall? (in all areas) I dont believe any part of the update mentioned that...

If the update make drops slowly dwindle for people who are doing the same area many times, it still doesn't do anything about the people who do multiple areas several times a day.

If you have selective memory or something, you don't have to show us here. Next time, if you quote someone, try to quote the whole sentence instead of half a sentence. My 5-year-old brother can do it, can't you?

Na that only applies to you, no one wants to read what YOU post twice.

Oh and 5 year old brother? Either your 12 and shouldnt even be playing the game (it specifically says no one under 13)

Or your 25 living at home with your retired parents, who somehow managed to pop out a kid at that age.

Based on your "Na Na Na Boo Boo" comments im guessing your twelve or maybe even younger. Therefore your playing the game illegally and have no real opinions on the matter. (As macro using isnt illegal by federal law, you playing it is.)

Thank god your years away from being able to vote.

Stop posting incoherent thoughts and responses. Nice try at one-liner, but no cigar. Perhaps you should go back to your postings of long and incoherent paragraphs.

This is why trolling in any form is bad, the last few posts are completely irrelevant. The only content is my e-avatar is bigger than your e-avatar so don't make me argue with you over the internet or you'll be sorry!

Even a well intentioned forum browser can be dragged down into this making the thread good for nothing informational; only for those of us who enjoy watching the "troll" or as time goes on and more are attracted "trolls" make complete idiots of themselves. Don't get me wrong its periodically funny to watch two alpha trolls go at it but more often than not we get piss poor arguments like this.

Back on topic, sounds like the circumstances with no item's dropping weren not isolated nor were they for everybody. What is evident that it was widespread and occuring often enough to warrant a patch to fix this rather annoying bug for those who were affected. Kudos for the patch Anet.

I still question their business practices. Any other piece of software actually lists the changes they do with every patch, no matter how big the changelog gets - Anet just takes a paragraph saying were going to fix/mess with stuff in this broad category, hope you enjoy (hiding anything that would piss people off); then posts individual items that they think will make people praise their patches.

The simple fact is all this item crap wouldnt have happend if they paid their programmers more then 7.50 an hour and actually debugged the patches

Imo what came out of the last beta was good - at that point it was several hundred people saying we want x in the game and you to fix y;
And they did it.
Now its Areanet guessing what people want/desire, and fixing things that arent even broke, making them worse.

Just my 2¢

If you think that coding is an exact science, than thats your problem right there, and if you think that running a fix through tests is going to catch all of its problems, theres another thing wrong with your thinking.

As to not telling us what exactly goes on in the patches, this is absolutely nothing new, there are MANY things they didn't tell us, how much is "Increased Damage Absorption"? How long is "Increased Duration to xxx"? People figured it out, WE (as a community) figured it out, and many people enjoyed it, I know I've had alot of fun fiddling with ideas of whats going on... For me its another level of gameplay, for others I can understand it being annoying... But new? Absolutely not.

Afte going through about 15 different areas since the patch, Id certainly have to agree that drops are decreasing. (thats 15 random areas over approx 9 hours, the areas had lvl 14-24 monsters). Some areas, I was advancing my new character. Other areas, I was trying to find decent items. Id like to know if anbody who claims drops are better after 6/15 patch is making their claim based on long term drops. Im just a bit skeptical because the majority of people who believe drops are better have a post like this:

WOW! I found 2 purples in 30 minutes doing the Kryta mission. I dunno what you guys are talking about. The drops are better for me!

Of course, they probably do not say anything about how everyone else in their party got nothing of value. In addition, it was only a 30 minute period. Who cares what dropped after 1 mission? After 9 hours, the result: 99% sold to merchant. I think I kept an Icy Axe Haft! Nothing I can even use (odd, since I have 4 characters that need equip)

I'm just going to go all out and quit this game.

Where's the fun at?

It's pointless to do anything anymore because of the drops, i did a mission at Abaddons Mouth today and got a Superior Rune and there were lots of great drops, but this means i have to join a party and do the same missions over and over again.. keep in mind some of them can take you up to about 30mins or longer.. My opinion is if this keeps up this game is just gonna to get old real fast.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

They should be TOTALLY ashamed of themselves. I've never gotten so bored of a MMO, and yes this is an MMO, this fast. Whoever didn't see this coming had blinders on though. There really isn't an insentive to keep you here because all they are shooting for origonal purchase $$.

This game had awesome potential, but it doesn't seem the developers know how to keep people around. As much as I hate to say it, the grind and farming are key factors to long term play.

The only thing that kept my interest the last couple weeks was farming for new gear and runes, but they took that away last patch. I'm still messing around with a few character's i havent maxed yet, But they are down to 2 patches to fix stuff before I'm gone.

Fwiw, a friend and I did Gates of Kryta today looking for a skill to capture on our lower level characters. Did the entire mission twice, because we died once late into it, searched every knook and cranny of the area and killed anything that moved... i got three really lame purple weapons and he got none, on two run throughs over three hours long.

The Drakes not only dropped average weak stuff, but hardly dropped anything at all. I had to go back in a third time alone, because I messed up the skill capture, and decided to go ahead and kill all the drakes just to see... not a single drop from any of them.

Definitely different...

Well, I did a couple of quests around Droknar's Forge yesterday (one being the extra attribute point quest, can't remember the other). I was excited to do so thinking that I had a chance for some good drops given the healthy amount of high level enemies.

I've been sorely disappointed.

After completing them I had a few Stone Summit Badges, a couple of white foci, a couple of white salvage armors and one blue axe. That's it. Total rubbish.

Not to mention the three Ascension missions and the Dragon's Lair mission I did multiple times each beforehand. Not to farm, but because of bad PuG's, stupid henchmen, having inappropriate skills in the skill bar, helping a guildy out, general failure, etc. The only thing worthy of keeping and/or selling was one gold shield in all that time spent playing. The rest was merchant/salvage fodder.

Nearly everything drops gold coins and gold coins only. When you have to split it up between five or seven other people it amounts to pocket change. Oooooohhhhh... 100 whole gold per hour. Yippee...

How some people have multiple hundreds of thousands of gold is beyond me. I've made about 15,000 gold "just playing the game how it's meant to be played" in about 120 hours. That's 125 gold per hour. I maintain my opinion that GW is the stingiest RPG I've ever played.
